Toronto star Austin Matthews is in for a lot of trouble. The 22-year-old is said to have harassed a female security guard. Now the professional has to go to court.
Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL has to stand trial for improper behaviour.
The Canadian star player is accused of harassing a female security guard in his home town of Scottsdale/Arizona on 26th May this year. A first hearing in the case was already scheduled for Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs announced that they were aware of the events. “Auston is fully cooperating with the authorities, but neither he nor the club will make any further comments,” an official statement said.
In the NHL, the 2016 number one pick has so far scored 111 goals and 205 scorer points in 212 games, and last February signed a new five-year contract worth 58 million US dollars.
Matthews drops pants
In detail, 22-year-old Matthews is said to have attempted to open the door of the security guard’s car outside a residential complex during the night in question. When the woman confronted the drunken Matthews and some friends, he is said to have pulled down his trousers and made obscene gestures to the security guard in his underwear.
