The world-famous singer The Weeknd invests in eSports

The world-famous RnB and hip-hop singer The Weeknd is now also involved in eSports: He invests in the multimedia company OverActive Media.
OverActive Media, the company that includes the eSports organization Splyce and the Overwatch League Team Toronto Defiant, announced their collaboration with singer The Weeknd via Twitter.
A newcomer in a class of its own
Triple Grammy Award winner Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye is now part of the ownership group and an investor in the Canadian eSports organization.
OverActive Media currently maintains teams in the League of Legends European Championship, the Overwatch League, the Call of Duty World League, Rocket League, Starcraft and Smite.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome an international superstar like Abel to our investor family,” said Chris Overholt, CEO and President of OverActive Media, “Abel’s position in the music industry will enable our Splyce and Toronto Defiant brands to reach more fans and new audiences.
The Weeknd also made the following comments: “As a huge eSports fan, I am very excited to be involved in this project. I can’t wait to work with OverActive Media in a unique and innovative way”.
Most recently, OverActive Media Organisation has announced that they are using the knowledge of US military veterans to train their Overwatch League and League of Legends Championship teams by using them as coaches.
