NBA News – Lakers start with defeat

Basketball superstar LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers have started the new season of the North American professional league NBA with a defeat against their city rivals.

On Tuesday (22.10.2019/local time) the Lakers had to admit defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers with 102:112 (54:62). 34-year-old James scored 18 points, got nine rebounds and distributed eight assists. However, he also caused five ball losses. The most valuable player of the last final series, Kawhi Leonard, scored 30 points, six rebounds and five assists in his debut for the Clippers.

The decisive factor for the Lakers’ defeat were the bench players, who only contributed 16 points. The Clippers Reserve, on the other hand, scored 60 points.

Toronto champions narrow victory

Defending champion Toronto started the season with a hard-fought victory in extra time. The Raptors had a duel with New Orleans, who had to give up their 130 kg Zion Williamson powerhouse. Their outstanding Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet players, who both scored 34 points. Power Forward Siakam also contributed 18 rebounds.
