FK Austria Wien eSports – the ProClub giant

In 2017 the chapter “eSport” started at FK Austria Vienna. In addition to a Call of Duty player, the Austrian first division team also has two FIFA players for individual competitions and, since March 2019, a Pro Club team.

The fact that this team is now ploughing through the virtual leagues is mainly due to one player: Daniel ‘Bluesforever88’ Wimmer.

For Austria Vienna, things are going really well on the virtual course. The team is currently playing in three leagues, two of which the 24-time Austrian champion is leading the table. The Pro Club team is also extremely successful in the team competition of the NGL Pro Club Premiership. With a lead of five points and a goal ratio of 37:2, the team is in the first place.

The recipe for success lies in the offensive

No team is really dangerous for the violets at the moment. The only exception is the VPG league. Here one must be content with place three for the time being. In comparison with other professional clubs in the Pro Club business, Austria Wien eSports is in a good position, as the performance in the NGL Premiership shows. In addition to SV Meppen, the third league team, you have to hold your own against SV Babelsberg 03 eSports (currently second place), RW Essen eSport or the Stuttgarter Kickers.

The success is to be found above all in the storm. Daniel ‘Bluesforever88’ Wimmer scored 90 goals in 103 games in all three leagues. In the Premiership, there are already 14 goals in eight games. But Wimmer doesn’t just score the goals. He also plays the set himself. He prepared a total of 48 stalls for his colleagues in the current competitions, which also makes him the top scorer for his team. This has already brought him into the eleven on six out of nine matches.

What makes the violets strong could also be their greatest weakness, because if Wimmer isn’t there or doesn’t have a good day, there’s still a lack of players who can catch it at the moment. Thanks to the extremely good defence of Austria Wien eSports, you shouldn’t leave anything burning in the back, and that will be at least as important for the title.
