Timothy Adams gets the EPT Monte Carlo €25,000 Single-Day High Roller

The €25,000 Single-Day High Roller on the 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino European Poker Tour ended with Timothy Adams winning after eliminating his heads-up opponent Sean Winters.

After masterfully maintaining his short stack throughout the final table, Winter went heads-up with a 20:1 chip disadvantage. He was able to double his stack three times and increase the likelihood of an unlikely win. Unfortunately, the fourth all-in for Winter didn’t turn out well, and Adams won 548,030 Euros.

Shortly after winning the tournament, Adams Winter shook hands and said: “Nice ladder”. Winter started the final table with a stack of 550,000 chips and never really recovered, but he kept his short stack up to the heads-up where he almost won the title.

Adams says he’s always traveled and played for the experience in the past, but now the tournament schedules, like those of the EPT, feel like a business trip.

“I’ve been on the road for a while now and used to have a day off, and it was nice to have that reset. But these days the plans are just so packed with daily poker.

“You don’t get a break. You play or talk to friends about poker or watch poker situations.”

“It would be nice to have a day without poker. But to be honest, before, when I used to travel, it was for the experience, and now it totally feels like a work thing where I just go and work.”
