After the great success of the first Esport WTCR OSCARO at RaceRoom 2018, the new season offers even more.
Simracers from all over the world who participate in this booming sector of motorsport can look forward to a live final in Malaysia and prize money of 25,000 Euros.
This continues the long-standing partnership between WTCR organiser Eurosport Events, RaceRoom and Sector3 Studios. The second season of the online version of the FIA Touring Car World Cup WTCR presented by OSCARO starts today (July 25th) at 5:30 pm CEST.
The first race of the online multiplayer championship will start with a time trial on August 18th on a virtual Hungaroring with a preview video.
This is how the Esports WTCR OSCARO works at RaceRoom
In the second season of the Esports WTCR OSCARO, there will be seven racing events. They each include a time trial and a multiplayer championship divided into four classes.
The top class will be shown including an expert commentary on the Facebook page of the FIA WTCR / OSCARO, the official YouTube channel of the WTCR and on the Twitch channel of RaceRoom in livestream.
There will also be regional qualifications in America, Asia, Oceania and, for the first time, Russia.
A total of 13 drivers can qualify for the finale. Eight of the finalists will come from the Esports WTCR OSCARO Multiplayer Championship.
Live final in December in Kuala Lumpur
Simultaneously with the season finale of the WTCR / OSCARO, the WTCR race of Malaysia at the Sepang International Circuit (December 13th to 15th), the live final will take place on Saturday, December 14th in Kuala Lumpur. Several races will be shown in livestream. The champion will be determined with identical equipment. There will be a pot of 25,000 Euros, which includes prize money and travel grants for the finalists.
