The Call of Duty World League Championship has begun!

The best 32 Call of Duty sports teams from around the world compete for $2 million in prize money. Live from August 14th-18th on Twitch and MLG.com

The final of the exciting fourth season of the Call of Duty World® League, presented by PlayStation®4, started yesterday evening! The best Call of Duty® sports players from all over the world are trying to crown themselves as the 2019 Call of Duty World League Champion.

The five-day tournament will take place at the famous Edwin W. Pauley Pavilion Sports Complex in Los Angeles, starting with qualifying rounds for all 32 teams. The doors will be open to spectators on the last three final days to watch the action live on-site as the teams approach the Grand Final on Sunday afternoon. All the action will also be broadcast live to spectators around the globe. Fans can watch any moment live on MLG.com, Twitch and even in the game Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4.

“This CWL season was really exciting for the viewers, and the Call of Duty community appreciated it – with more viewers than ever before,” said Johanna Faries, Commissioner of Call of Duty Esports. “After many thrilling months of drama and outstanding matches, we’ll soon know who the best Call of Duty Sports team in the world is.”

Co-Studio Head of Treyarch, Dan Bunting, adds: “It was incredible to watch the Black Ops 4 community compete for this season, especially the level of the playoffs – it was really intense.” Mark Gordon, also co-studio head, commented: “Being a fan of all this has been great fun. Thanks to all the players who played this season and to all the fans and spectators everywhere who followed the action as we did – we can’t wait to see who will take the title on Sunday”.

The professional teams OpTic Gaming, 100 Thieves, Luminosity Gaming and eUnited all won tournaments throughout the season, making them all favourites for the title. They compete against 16 amateur teams who qualified for the championship at a league event in Miami in July.

These are the groups for the 2019 Call of Duty World League Championship:

GROUP A                     GROUP B              GROUP C                GROUP D

After the first two days of the tournament, the top two teams of each group will enter the final round of the tournament. These remaining 16 teams play against each other in a double-KO-system until the champion is determined at the end. The tournament will feature Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4 from Publisher Activision and developer Treyarch.

Tickets for the 2019 Call of Duty World League Championship are available while stocks last. Normal tickets cost $50.00 (plus fees and taxes) and give access to all three days of the event (August 16th-18th) at the Edwin W. Pauley Pavilion. The event will be fully broadcast from August 14th-18th on Twitch.tv/CallofDuty, MLG.com/CallofDuty and in-game exclusively in the PlayStation®4 version of Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4. The decision Sunday will be shown on Twitter via @CODWorldLeague.
