Enterprise is causing trouble in the MMORPG Star Trek Online

Star Trek Online has once again brought the classic enterprise ship class into play. And again the cult ship is available in extremely luck-dependent lootboxes. The players are excited.
What’s it all about with the new ships? Most recently, there was an announcement in Star Trek Online that there would be two particularly cool ships in the game:
-The Consitution Class for the Federation
-The D7 cruiser for the Klingons
Especially the Constitution class is the ship type of the classic Enterprise, but this time you get the chic version from the new Netflix series Star Trek Discovery. From this era comes the last episode in which an old acquaintance appears before her gruesome death.
The fans of the game want to have this Enterprise, but there’s a catch.
Enterprise only with Lootboxes and low probability
This is how you get the Discovery Enterprise: If you want the Enterprise (or the Klingon ship), you have to buy special Research & Development packages between June 20 and July 11, 2019. These are Lootboxes, which cost about 3 Euro each.
With a bit of luck, they can contain another package, which in turn contains a Constitution ship.
This disturbs the community: But the probability of already getting the Enterprise with a few lootboxes is extremely low. The community speaks of several hundred dollars in lootboxes, which are necessary for such a lucky strike.
Although lootboxes can also be exchanged for the in-game currency dilithium, huge amounts are also required. Players speak of 1.5 billion dilithium crystals.
So Reddit, Twitter and the forums are just full of angry players complaining about such Lootbox gambling:
“I don’t have time to grind 1.5 billion because I have a real life, a job and kids and I’m not willing to spend 375 dollars. I want the ship real, but not like this. The Shitstorm that started after the announcement of the Discovery Constitution is justified. You’ve gone too far, Cryptic!”
“That’s just disgusting! Regulation of gambling in games prescribed by the legislator and consistently carried out cannot come early enough!
“This is ridiculous! Hopefully, nobody buys them! This is a kick in the face for all fans and long-term gamblers.
Also, the ships from the Lootboxes don’t count for the whole account and players with several Twinks could only use the ship for one of their Captains.
The fans would like to spend money if they could buy the ship directly in the game shop C-Store. They just don’t want lootbox gambling:
“I am bitterly disappointed because this is an almost unattainable gambling prize. Just put them in the C-Store. Treat your customers fairly and let’s move on.
The Shitstorm is already so strong that the moderators had to intervene several times.
