The Sunday Million on PokerStars is probably the most weekly tournament in online poker ever. For a comparatively small buy-in of $109, you’re guaranteed $1,000,000.
On yesterday’s Sunday 7,730 players came together to provide a total of 10,890 entries, bringing the prize pool to $1,089,000.
And once again, a professional won the day. In the large field, which exceeds the WSOP Main Event in the number of participants by default, it isn’t very easy to hold out. Apart from some at the play skill, one must have as a player with such a field often still a quantity of luck. Christian Jeppsson aka “eisenhower1” showed however that a long breath could be worthwhile also with the Sunday million. The Swede won the Sunday Million with his second Bullet. For his first-place, he is allowed to collect $111,769.63.
Jeppson has been playing online poker for a long time, and the PokerStars blog noted over three years ago that he has already won over $8.6 million in online tournament winnings. Yesterday, over $111k was added to that.
Interestingly, Jeppson mentions the nicknames “Lena900” and “C.Darwin2” in the three-year-old interview when asked who’s at the top of the online poker world – both players are still playing in all the major online tournaments at PokerStars and proving their skills on the long bench – just like Jeppson did at Sunday Million yesterday.
