Actor Will Smith now also invests in gaming. As has now become known, he hangs in an investment of 46 million dollars in the e-sports company Gen.G.
Together with Japanese football star Keisuke Honda, Will Smith (Independence Day, Prince of Bel Air) is said to have been looking for a way to invest in gaming. Their choice is finally for the e-sports company Gen.G from South Korea. In the future, the team will also be successful in other regions, as Honda confirmed to Gamesindustry.
“E-Sports is not yet big in Japan, but we see enormous growth, which is very positive. We decided to invest in Gen.G because their team is incredible and has a great vision to become a leading team in this field. We look forward to working with them and boosting the e-sports industry around the world.”
The investment is a whopping $46 million for the company. Gen.G or Generation Gaming was founded in 2017. At that time still under the name KSV Esports. The name change was the first step towards being more internationally accessible.
