IEM in spring again with CS:GO in Katowice

The Intel Extreme Masters returns to Katowice at the end of February. As the organizing ESL announced, the “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” competition is the first Masters Championship tournament of the newly founded ESL Pro Tour.
In the one-week tournament, 16 CS:GO teams will compete for prize money of 500,000 US dollars. The main phase will take place from 28th February to 1st March at the Spodek Arena.
IEM Katowice will also feature an e-sport and gaming tradeshow called IEM Expo. During the fair, the final matches of the Quake Pro League 2 will also see a competitor crown the world’s best Quake player.
According to the organizers, 174,000 fans visited the IEM Katowice last year. With 230 million spectators who spent a total of 157 million hours in the streams, the event was also the most watched ESL event.
