Alonso makes a plea for eSports

The former Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso can only report positive things about eSports. He has been involved in the industry for quite some time.

As part of the 24-hour race at Le Mans, an eSports tournament took place, at which motorsport idol Fernando Alonso also paid a visit.

On this occasion, the Spaniard clearly spoke out in favour of promoting the virtual sport. “I have a lot of fun with eSports. There are countless possibilities in the virtual world, and you can see that these events generate more and more attention”, he explained his point of view.

In his opinion, the relationship between real and virtual racing should also be strengthened.

Alonso already active in eSports for several years

His suggestion: “At all races, as here at Le Mans, a virtual competition should take place in parallel. Everyone benefits from that.”

The Spaniard already showed initiative in 2017 when he started to become active in eSports.

At that time he founded his SimRacing team “FA Racing”. This still exists today.

Due to his strong interest in eSports, he will continue to be involved in the industry himself.
