Kruse goes away empty-handed at WSOP

Football star Max Kruse spends his holidays at the Poker World Cup in Las Vegas. In his first tournament, he has nothing to do with the decision.

Unlike many colleagues, professional footballer Max Kruse does not spend his summer holiday in Dubai, on the Maldives or a Mediterranean island, but playing poker in Las Vegas.

Since 2014, the currently non-contracting ex-national player has been taking part in the World Series of Poker – this year as well.

But the HORSE with a buy-in of 10,000 dollars was quickly the end of the line for Kruse, and he didn’t reach the ranks that would be awarded prize money. The winner of the event, which runs until Saturday, will receive prize money of 425,000 dollars in addition to the obligatory winner bracelet.

In the past, Kruse had often caused a sensation in Las Vegas. He has played his way into the money at eight tournaments so far. His best result in 2014 was third place in the 2-7 Draw Lowball. This earned him prize money of 36,494 dollars.

In total, Kruse has won over $120,000 in live tournaments.

Barbarez comes into the money

The long-time Bundesliga player Sergej Barbarez will also be back at the WSOP poker tables in 2019.

In his first appearance, he played his way into the pot-limit Omaha with a $1000 buy-in. In 60th place, he still received 3472 dollars.
