What Is Boule (La Boule) ?

In the past French casinos offered a game similar to Roulette, called La Boule. Though no online casino offers it, some land-based casinos in France still do. The La Boule wheel closely resembles a Roulette wheel. Both have colou red pockets and the numbers one through nine. A La Boule ball is larger than the ball used in Roulette. It is roughly the same size as a tennis ball. The ball rolls around the bowl before landing in a pocket. The bowl stays still the whole time. Players kick off the game by making one of the following choices:

• Six to nine
• Odd numbers between one and nine
• Even numbers between two and eight
• Red
• Black
• The number of their choice
• Payouts for winning any of the above bets are a 1/1 payout as well as a 7/1. The casino’s house edge in this game is made higher when five is a winner. In La Boule, a five is yellow and is the equivalent of the Roulette wheels’ zero. When odd number bets are made, number five is not an option in La Boule.
