E-Sports: A day at Gamescom 2019

Gamescom 2019, which runs until Sunday 25th August in Koelnmesse, has reached its peak. Game developers will present their latest products, companies and schools will provide information about career opportunities in the gaming and developer industry. Visitors will be able to acquire many nice memories in the merch department, and cosplayers will entertain with colourful costumes.

Nintendo games enjoy great demand

In Hall 9.1, industry giants such as Nintendo awaited their fans, who had the opportunity to test the latest releases themselves. Fans queued to see Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and Pokémon Sword & Shield.

But especially to play The Legend of Zelda: Link´s Awakening was one of the biggest wishes of the fans. The queue for a few rounds with the new Zelda game extended to the outside area.

Final Fantasy: the popular retro classic in a new edition

Another attraction at Gamescom 2019 was the presentation of the new edition of Final Fantasy VII, the popular retro game that appeared more than 20 years ago. The story of the mercenary Cloud Strife, the flower girl Aerith and the unscrupulous Shinra group still seems to fascinate the audience.

Casinoonline.de: Can you tell us a bit about the game?

Final Fantasy: Final Fantasy is an MMORPG. In other words, it’s a game where many players can play together online. There they can complete different missions. The advantage over other online games is that you can take on all roles with one character.

The range of things in the game is breathtaking, and the graphics are beautiful. The music has even received nominations and is in the Guinness Book of Records. It’s also a game that is very responsive to the fans.

Casinoonline.de: Why should we get into the game right now?

Final Fantasy: We just released a new add-on with completely new extensions. This means that not only you will be the one to restart, but also other players. They sing just as fresh and just as hot for the game.

Casinoonline.de: Does this game have to struggle with the big competition on the market?

Final Fantasy: The game is already a couple of years old, but with the new add-on we have gained a lot of new players. There is growth to be seen. The desire for expansion is there, and of course, that speaks for the game.

Casinoonline.de: How many active players are online in total?

Final Fantasy: I think we currently have about 10 million registered players.

The fans are always drawn back to the glamorous times in the past. That’s why new editions of older games are so successful at the moment. This is reflected, for example, in the enormous success of Final Fantasy.

Nintendo has also recognized this trend, and with its remake of the popular game Super Mario Bros for the Switch console, it’s a big seller in a game that has actually been on the market for about three decades.

In addition to the major game manufacturers, there were also hardware companies on site who wanted to convince visitors of their products.

The suppliers distributed gaming mice, headsets and much more. eSports competitions were also held.

In the crowd, there were cosplayers to be seen again and again, who attracted the attention of the visitors with fascinating costumes.

Security: Very quiet, very friendly. We had no problems, and there were no disputes in the past days. We hope that it will stay that way until Sunday.

Casinoonline.de: Does one already know how many visitors there were all together?

Security: No, there was still no info. We count on the day with approx. 50,000 and 70,000 visitors.
